In reference to your words chosen: alien and abandonment. I can see pretty clear connections between the words and your chosen design.

There is imagination and innovation in terms of the use of the representational instruments introduced in studio.

The above section, alien, really does represent itself. Some clear uses of SketchUps tools can be seen in the stair design. The design of the top section is quite developed. The stairs really suit the design of the top section. Like ascending into another world (worlds) it helps reinforce the fact that the word is alien. However the treads may need to be slightly smaller, to be functional. The space of the top section is interestingly dynamic with the gaps in between the spheres.

The lower section does not represent abandonment well. From inside the space you cannot see the detailed architectural design that is on the outside. However it is large and that creates a feeling of abandonment. And the stairs have a feeling of no safety (lack of safety rails) which adds to the relation to abandonment ... Yet the design tools used to form the abandonment room's shape is simplistic, with just the extrusion of a 2d shape.
